Incredible 2009 Summer Vacation

One word to describe our vacation - incredible. Sorry to be slow in posting. I will 'try' to get around to putting some pics up today. We enjoyed an amazing trip to California. We flew in to San Francisco and stayed Monday - Thursday nights in Monterey. Friday we travelled to San Francisco. We flew out from San Francisco Saturday afternoon.

Points of our trip included Monterey, Carmel, Pacific Grove, the 7 Mile Drive, Pebble Beach, Gilroy, Santa Cruz, Madonna Pass, the Big Sur, Hearst Castle, and San Francisco. Of course there were communities in between, too. We enjoyed the water, the mountains, the flowers, friends, quaint towns, and each other. Kent enjoyed a day of golfing and I enjoyed a spa day.

Since we have been several times to San Francisco we did not do the 'tourist' thing. Kent did enjoy a steamed crab @ the Fisherman's Wharf. We drove Lombard Street so I could see the beautiful flowers. We enjoyed the Sir Francis Drake Hotel. It's just an elegantly trimmed and decorated old hotel. We enjoyed dinner at the House of Prime Rib. It was so delicious. If you are ever in San Francisco I highly recommend making a reservation and having dinner. Otherwise we shopped. The kids sure looked pretty @ church yesterday! :)

Again, hopefully later today I will post some beautiful pictures of a fun and relaxing trip. To my Texas friends in need of rest and relaxation fly in to San Jose or San Francisco rent a convertible and take this road trip. We were blessed with temperatures in the 50's and low 60's the entire trip!

Tracie, I am so glad that you and Kent had a wonderful vacation in California. And, as soon as you got back, you had a "new baby" born into the faith. How exciting! we certainly live in great times. Love you all.

Glad you enjoyed your visit to California. You picked some of the most beautiful of it to visit. We just take for granted what's within our grasps. Thankful that you are safely home.
