A Day of Accomplishments

Today was our first full day in the office after a couple of weeks of funerals. We have mourned the loss of Bro. Rubio's Mom, Kasey's Dad - Ronnie Franklin (a member of our church, too), Justin's Grandpa, and Bro. Blackmon's sister. These deaths have taken us to Bellaire, Trinity, Oil City, DeRidder and Jasper. Never have we had in a few days so many deaths.

I felt like a racquet ball on a racquet ball court today. I was the little ball that bounced from wall to wall. I began working early this morning before leaving our home and continued working after returning home around 8:00 pm. I certainly don't mind working...in fact I LOVE accomplishing.

While today I didn't check off as many items as I would have liked I did accomplish. Of course returning to the office means others have questions and things to 'run' by me. We have a christian school. Today I spent time with our administrator working on an in-service seminar. Additionally, we made some changes for our janitorial staff. CCS is progressing quite rapidly. We're opening two new classes this year, a new computer lab and a new 4 year old kindergarten class. Additionally, we worked on creating a new lunch/snack billing system.

Redonia is an artist by profession. I chose some words that she will free handed write on one of the walls in our Great Room @ the church. She was going to begin today but the room was in need of a coat of paint. Thankfully, Trent was able to get right on it and tomorrow Redonia will begin the art. I can hardly wait. This room is a multi-purpose room. Today I ordered seminar style tables to enhance the room. It's going to be very nice.

Deadra worked on artwork for an upcoming back to school event. We will distribute school supplies to the community. Of course, I work closely with her proofing/editing. I am so delighted because I was able to gain consent from a department store to set up a table the Friday before the event to distribute fliers. We will also distribute ice cold bottled water that has our church logo/information. This will be tax free weekend. The manager stated in a few short hours he will have more than 1000 customers who will be recipients of our materials. EXCITING!!!

Finally around 2:30 Kent and I broke for a quick lunch at McKenzie's BBQ. Adjacent is a wonderful bakery. After lunch I ran in the bakery for a cookie. They had so many cookies. They looked so good that I couldn't help but take cookies back to the church staff. I LOVE doing little things for people.

Tomorrow I have a goal to be @ the church between 8:00 and 8:30 am. There's much to accomplish! We are working on lots of physical things but we are also working on many GREAT plans for continued church growth and revival.

The future of CUPC is bright. We have awesome people who love God and want to serve Him. Sunday night Kent had our musicians to go forward for prayer. With the exception of one the musicians are younger than 23. He had those of us who work on the van and bus routes to go forward. Of this group there are only 2 of us who are over 23. Amazing!!!!

I find it ironic that today I received an email from Lisa Marshall, WNOP. Following is the first paragraph: "Young people are our most valuable natural resource. Their energy, creativity, and mission-mindedness are needed if the church is going to realize its potential and perpetuate the apostolic message. This energy must be directed constructively, which can only be done by seeking God. Satan wants to turn youthful energy into a negative, destructive force. We must, however, challenge his desire through focused intercession."

I'm excited about the many things happening @ CUPC. I'm thankful to be apart of a church that loves it's youth and children. I'm also thankful to be apart of a church who does things for the area youth/children. Student Ministries is a MOST valuable ministry in every church.

In conclusion following are the wall words Redonia will beautifully draw and paint tomorrow:

For I know the plans I have for you . . .
Plans to prosper you & not harm you
Plans to give you hope and a future.

Very encouraging. Thank you for sharing. I always enjoy your thoughts and reading about the work for God being done in Conroe.

Truly a day of accomplishments for the Kingdom. It is a blessing to see the move of God going forward, and the burden for souls, particularly our youth.

How exciting your plans are!!!!!!
We are working on the back to school and fall plans too....though the construction of the new addition is dominating our activities. We need to keep on with outreach and growth spiritually while we are building the actual building. And, I love the wall words....a very special verse in my family...given to my Dad when he had his arm amputated. It gave us all hope for the future and that was 15+ years ago now. I love your enthusiam! Love you!!!
